Macworld/iWorld

Macworld/iWorld was an information technology trade show with conference tracks dedicated to Apple's Mac platform. It was held annually in the United States during January. Originally Macworld Expo and then Macworld Conference & Exposition, the gathering dates back to 1985. The conference was organized by International Data Group (IDG), co-publisher of Macworld magazine.

On December 18, 2008, Apple announced that the 2009 Macworld Conference & Expo would be the last in which the company participates. On October 14, 2014, IDG suspended Macworld/iWorld indefinitely.

Print green on the go Special: Digital Biz Asked at the Macworld Expo in January 2008 what he thought of the Kindle, Apple founder Steve Jobs scornfully replied: "It doesn‘t matter how good or bad the product is; the fact is that people don‘t read anymore." Ironically, just as the minority of Apple computer owners are rarely less than Mac evangelists, so a minority of amateur bookworms are rarely less than avid readers –– who will read whenever, wherever, however.
